We're glad you're considering the Montessori School of Huntsville for your child. For more than sixty years, MSH has partnered with families across the greater Huntsville area to support children in becoming confident, capable, and independent learners.
We welcome applications throughout the year. Our primary admissions season runs from September through December, with priority decisions shared in January. Applications received outside this window are always welcome and are added to our ongoing enrollment pool as space becomes available. Our admissions process is designed to be thoughtful and personal, so we can determine the best possible fit for each child and family.
THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS
TAKE A TOUR
We invite you to visit our campus and experience our Montessori community in action. During your tour, you will observe classrooms, learn about our approach, and see how students grow from early childhood through adolescence. We offer two tour pathways:
EARLY CHILDHOOD PATHWAY
Infant through Kindergarten
Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
Our Early Childhood Pathway supports infants through kindergarten-aged children in learning environments designed to foster independence, concentration, and confidence through purposeful, hands-on learning.
UPPER SCHOOL PATHWAY
1st through 9th Grade
Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m.
Our Upper School continues the Montessori journey into the elementary and adolescent years, where students develop academic mastery, independence, and leadership through focused study, collaboration, and real-world learning.
Each tour lasts about 30 to 45 minutes, so please arrive a few minutes early. You will need a driver's license for our visitor check-in system. Registration is required and space is limited. Tours are for adults only, with the exception of infants who can be worn by a caregiver. Our school is located in South Huntsville on Chaney Thompson Road.
APPLY ONLINE
Applications may be submitted online at any time through our application portal. A $200 nonrefundable application fee applies. Submitting an application does not guarantee admission. Placement decisions are made with care, taking into account classroom composition, developmental readiness, and our ability to appropriately support each child within our learning environment.
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CHILD AND FAMILY
Our admissions process is intentionally personal and multi-layered. Rather than a single interview, this stage helps us understand your child while giving your family a chance to experience our school in depth. It typically includes three parts:
Admissions Conversation
An initial meeting with our Admissions Team to learn about your child, your family's educational goals, and initial alignment with our program.
Family Interview
A deeper conversation with members of our admissions team and faculty to understand your child's learning profile, your family's values, and how we can best support your child's growth.
Student Visit Day
Primary through 9th Grade applicants spend time on campus participating in classroom life, meeting peers, and experiencing the academic and social rhythms of our community.
ENROLLMENT
When a placement is offered, families are invited to an Enrollment Appointment to complete final paperwork and review the enrollment agreement. To secure a space, all enrollment materials must be completed within seven days of the offer. If a placement is not immediately available, your child will be placed in our applicant pool and considered as openings arise. Our admissions team remains in contact with families throughout the process.
RE-ENROLLMENT
Re-enrollment for currently enrolled families begins each December. Families receive detailed instructions and deadlines from our Admissions Team. We are deeply grateful for our continuing families and look forward to another year of learning and growth together.
